PROMET PREFIX is a modern machining company with machining accuracy of cast and welded parts up to 0.01 mm. We also assemble our castings into assemblies for machine and machinery manufacturers. We are located in Ratiboř near Vsetín near the PROMET FOUNDRY. Together we offer our customers an optimal combination of production processes.

PROMET PREFIX is a modern engineering company located in a complex of production halls in the village of Ratiboř, 6 km from Vsetín. We have 5,000 m2 of space for production purposes and also another 3,000 m2 of free space available.
Our technologies ensure very precise machining on CNC machines for rotary, horizontal or vertical parts. All technological processes are supported by independent checks using classic and state-of-the-art measuring instruments.
PROMET PREFIX also has an industrial paint shop and, last but not least, we offer a wide range of options for assembling mechanical machines and equipment. Our most important customers iclude, for example, STAHL or the Swiss elevator and escalator manufacturer Schindler.
We are part of the family-owned PROMET GROUP, which includes more than forty companies operating in the machinery, metallurgy and engineering industries. PROMET GROUP employs over four thousand people in the Czech Republic and abroad. The headquarters of the group is in Ostrava.

Our relationship with the environment is important to us. We minimize pollution and protect water and soil from oil and chemical spills. We reduce the risk of spills of hazardous substances at the point of use and in storage areas.
History
Originally Baťa’s workshop
The factory near Vsetín used to produce shoemaking machines. The more than century-old tradition began at the beginning of the 20th century. Back then, a small group of workers only produced spare parts in Baťa’s workshop.
Production of simple machines
In 1907, the workshop gradually started producing simple machines of its own design. For example, upper tensioning machines and mechanical mowers.
Progress in the thirties
In 1928, 360 workers were employed in the plant and foundry. Noticeable progress was made in the production of several types of sewing machines. Rubber production machines, knitting machines, MAS brand tools and other components were also produced here.
PREFIX s.r.o. acquires a 100% stake
Since 2000, the company has been among the world’s largest and best-known manufacturers of shoemaking machines. It has also been engaged in the development, production, assembly and sale of CNC lathes, including the supply of spare parts and the provision of service.
ZPS Prefix a.s.
ZPS Prefix a.s. is formed by merging an acquired purchasing company focused on the production of shoemaking machines and begins to function as a machining workshop for castings and subcontractors. It offers production facilities, machinery and experienced workers.
The Prefix part of Promet Group
ZPS Prefix s.r.o. is bought by Promet Group a.s. Promet Prefix becomes a member of the family-owned engineering holding.
